The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row is proud of its role in providing higher-quality entertainment for New York’s 42nd Street. To help further this goal of quality entertainment, the venue has created the following set of rules and policies below. Please read and abide by the policies as failure to abide by the rules may lead to guests being expelled from the venue. Specific shows or production companies may have slightly altered rules as noted in the event or show program guide or description.

Accessibility Policy

Lion Theatre is proud of its commitment to ADA-approved accessibility services. These services include:

  • Accessibility Seating

    Lion Theatre does have accessibility seating available. Please call the venue at 212-714-2442 for more details.

  • Hearing Assistance

    The venue offers accommodations designed to help guests who are deaf or hard-of-hearing to enjoy the show. Please be sure to call Theatre Row at 212-714-2442 at least 48 hours before your show start time to request any services or assistive measures.

  • Restrooms

    Accessible restrooms are available in the second-floor lounge.


Arrival Policy

Arriving late may result in guests being asked to wait in the lobby until a designated break period. To avoid frustration, The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row recommends that you arrive no later than 45 minutes before a ticketed event to make sure you have plenty of time to find parking and get to your seat.

Bag Policy

Event staff reserves the right to inspect all bags for inspection. Guests have the right to refuse searches and event staff reserve the right to deny entry. Prohibited items that are not illegal may be returned to a guest’s vehicle or disposed of before entry.


Cancellation Policy

The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row will make every effort to announce cancellations due to severe weather or artist cancellation as soon as possible. If your ticketed event is canceled, please call 212-714-2442 to ask about rescheduling or ticket refund procedures and policies. If you know that you can’t make it to an event, you can also call and ask to make an exchange. Please be aware that individual ticket exchanges do have a fee and must be exchanged no later than 48 hours before show start time.

Children Policy

Some shows or events may not be appropriate for younger children. Please refer to the event description or program guide for help in selecting the right events for your family. Please refer to the event description regarding whether younger children require their tickets. If you are not certain, you may call 212-714-2442 for help.


If your child is disruptive during an event or show, they and their accompanying parent or guardian may be asked to wait in the lobby.

Food Policy

Outside food and drink are not allowed in the theater for most events and shows. Refreshments are available before the show opens and during intermission. If a show has a different policy, it will be explained in the program guide or description.

Lost and Found Policy

Lost an item at an event? You can ask event staff for help with finding the lost and found service. You can also call 212-714-2442 after the show. Please be prepared to leave your full name, contact information, and a detailed description of your lost item. The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row does not claim responsibility for your lost possessions.

Prohibited Items

The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row restricts certain items within the theater in the interests of safety and to preserve the atmosphere of enjoyment for other guests. While some events may vary, the following is relevant to most productions. Please contact The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row at 212-714-2442 if you have any questions or refer to your ticketed event description and program.

  • Backpacks may be subject to search by event staff
  • Outside drinks, coolers, cans, cups, bottles, and beverages
  • Knives, guns, and any type of weapons or explosives
  • Professional cameras and recording equipment of any kind
  • Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Laser pointers
  • Noisemakers, whistles, and air horns
  • Illegal drugs or substances
  • Animals (except service animals)
  • Cigarettes, vapes, or other smoking paraphernalia may not be used within the venue or 20ft of entrances. Please call 212-714-2442 to ask about designated smoking areas.
  • Personal property or clothing that is a potential hazard to others (e.g. chains, wallet chains or jewelry with spiked edges)
  • Signs, clothing, or posters featuring offensive imagery or text
